Hispanic Ministry
Contact: Sr. Francine Koehler, srfrancine@sacredheart-church.org
With the increase of Hispanic families in the Diocese, the need for a welcoming community and a sense of belonging continues to grow. In Columbia there are approximately 1,500 Hispanic families. At Sacred Heart Parish, they represent 15 different countries.
The Hispanic Ministry promotes Mass and registration of the attendants in order to meet their needs in an appropriate and personalized manner. Volunteers are needed as Eucharistic ministers, lectors, musicians, and in all other liturgical roles. Christian formation, sacramental preparation, evangelization, lay leadership development and social concerns for the Hispanic community are also part of our immediate agenda.
Mass is celebrated in Spanish every Sunday at 1:00 pm.
