Welcome to the Catholic community of Sacred Heart and if you are also new to our city, welcome to Columbia. We are blessed that you have chosen this parish community as your spiritual home. For over one hundred twenty five years Columbia families have gathered here as one to celebrate the goodness of God's creation. Sacred Heart began as a single determined family in 1887 and is currently home to over 750 families plus literally thousands of family stories and histories grown over the many years.

The present church building was erected in 1914 after fire destroyed the original church. We believe and practice the "Sacred Heart Difference," that this faith community is far more than a beautiful, memory-filled building. Our members minister to one another, our city and our diocese in dozens of varied ways, praying and playing together as youth, seniors and every age in between. Hopefully you will find many opportunities for meeting, making friends and service here at Sacred heart. We welcome your journey with us as we continue to grow in serving the Lord in His people and building up the Kingdom of God in our midst.

We live in such a fast-paced society that we often meet ourselves coming and going. It is difficult at times to keep our attention focused on all that need be done, even when it comes to parish activities. The Sacred Heart web-site will share with you what is going on currently in the parish, mass-times, on-line bulletin, email addresses and sacrament schedules.
