Pastoral Care involves outreach to Sacred Heart parishioners who reside in their homes or in Residential Care Facilities in the area and are unable to participate in parish life because of illness or old age. Trained Eucharistic Ministers and visitors further the mission of Jesus by embodying a compassionate response to their spiritual and emotional needs. This ministry includes:
- Opportunity for the homebound to receive parish visitors who may bring them Eucharist, pray with them, and update them on parish activities
- Opportunity to receive a pastoral visit including the Sacrament of the Sick during Advent and Lent/Easter
- Opportunity to participate in an annual luncheon, Eucharist, and Anointing of the Sick with other seniors in the fall
- When needed, transportation can be provided to enable homebound parishioners to celebrate Eucharist on weekends or to come to special parish events
